The electrostatic precipitator may reduce work efficiency due to some factors in use, which is not what you want to see. Therefore, this article summarizes 6 factors that affect its work efficiency. Hope it can be helpful to you.

1. Flue gas flow rate

Excessive flue gas flow rate not only shortens the residence time of the dust in the electric field, but also blows the dust up directly into the dust layer or during the vibration. The formation of dust particles or dust masses will lead to a reduction in dust removal efficiency.

2. Airflow distribution

If the airflow distribution is uneven, the dust removal efficiency is high in places where the airflow speed is low. The local airflow speed is high where the scouring occurs, causing secondary fluttering and reducing the efficiency of dust removal. The overall efficiency is reduced because the effect of high smoke speed is greater than the effect of low smoke speed.

3. Dust specific resistance

The best dust collection effect is achieved when the specific resistance of dust is 10,000 to 10 times Ω.cm. If the specific resistance is too small, the dust will not easily adhere to the dust collection plate. If the specific resistance is too small, the dust will not stick to the dust collection plate easily and will be easily carried away by the flue gas, which will reduce the dust collection efficiency. If the specific resistance is too large, the dust charge will not easily escape and the adhesion force will be larger. To remove the dust on the pole plate, it is necessary to increase the vibrating force, which will easily cause the dust to fly twice, resulting in a decrease in dust removal efficiency.

4. Air leakage

In the negative pressure operation of the electric dust collector air leakage, will cause the secondary dust flying. Smoke speed increases and shortens the residence time of flue gas in electric field. Air leakage reduces the flue gas temperature, which may lead to condensation or even corrosion.

5. Flue gas temperature

When the flue gas temperature is within the range of 110~130˚C, the dust removal efficiency is good. The flue gas temperature is too high and the specific resistance of dust is reduced. The viscosity is small, the dust drive-in speed increases and the dust removal efficiency decreases. The smoke temperature is too low, the humidity increases. Ionization is weakened, corona current is reduced, and dust removal efficiency is reduced. The general sampling flue gas flow rate is 0.8~1.2m/s.

6. Soot concentration

The increase of soot concentration increases the dust particles in the electric field. This inhibits the generation of corona current and reduces the efficiency of dust removal. In severe cases, the current tends to zero, i.e. corona closure occurs. Therefore, the flue gas content of the dust collector inlet must be controlled to be below 5g/m3. The flue gas with high dust concentration should be pretreated.
